forumWhat families say

Rakuten Travel rating 4 out of 5 (960 reviews). Guests report that the lounge serves alcohol from 11 a.m., with sparkling wine and wine as well as beer, and that salads and fruit are served until 2 p.m., cake from 2 p.m., and the cocktail hour is generous too. On the other hand, some guests report that the shuttle bus from Shinagawa Station was not running during the weekday early check-in hours, which they found inconvenient.

Rooms

Tokyo Marriott Hotel has 249 rooms in the Gotenyama area of Shinagawa. Rooms are generously sized, averaging more than 38 sq m, and every room has a Simmons bed. The Deluxe Twin is 38 sq m with two semi-double beds 120 cm wide, and the Deluxe King is 38 sq m with one king bed 180 cm wide. The Superior King is 30 sq m and also has one king bed 180 cm wide. Family rooms of 70 sq m are available on floors 3 to 5, with space well suited to a family stay. Bathrooms are stylishly finished in marble and have a toilet with a bidet function.

Dining

Breakfast is served buffet-style at Lounge & Dining G from 6:30 to 11 a.m., with last orders at 10:30 a.m. At the open kitchen, an egg station lets a chef cook a customized omelet in front of you. There are also waffles, crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, and charmingly small pancakes. The dress code at Lounge & Dining G is smart casual, so children's clothing needs some thought as well.

Family-friendly features

Children aged 12 and under can stay by co-sleeping. On the room-only and breakfast-included plans for the Deluxe Twin and Deluxe King, up to one child may co-sleep, and elementary school children (both older and younger grades) are charged 100% of the adult rate, while babies and toddlers are not accepted for co-sleeping regardless of whether meals or bedding are included. On the early-booking Superior King plan, co-sleeping is not accepted for elementary school children, while babies and toddlers without meals or bedding can co-sleep free of charge. Because the conditions differ from plan to plan, please check the conditions of each plan before booking. Cribs are available to borrow in guest rooms; please confirm the number available and the conditions of use directly with the hotel. There is no communal bath, onsen or indoor pool, and no childcare service. The fitness gym is limited to guests aged 15 and over, so children under school age and elementary school children cannot use it. The adjoining Gotenyama Garden, covering about 2,000 tsubo (roughly 6,600 sq m), offers seasonal scenery such as cherry blossoms in spring and autumn foliage.
