Manjuso is a small inn of just 9 rooms, standing at the foot of Hinoyama in Setonaikai National Park with sweeping views of the Kanmon Strait. There are 8 Japanese-style tatami rooms and 1 Western-style twin room, and every room looks out over the strait. The lobby has a free kids' space with a slide and picture books, and dinner includes a kids' set meal for elementary school children and a child set meal for children under school age. Alongside the view baths there is also a family bath, reserved on the day. The baths are not onsen, but with Shimonoseki IC about 5 minutes away by car and the Kaikyokan aquarium about 10 minutes by car, the inn makes an easy base for sightseeing.
Rooms
There are 9 rooms in all: 8 Japanese-style tatami rooms and 1 Western-style twin room. The 7.5-tatami Japanese-style rooms take 1 to 4 guests, and the large room takes 3 to 9 guests, with sweeping views of the Kanmon Strait from every room. All rooms have an air purifier and a toilet with a washlet seat, and a humidifier is available to borrow. A microwave is also available, but only in some cases and by reservation. The Western-style twin is a barrier-free room that guests using a wheelchair can use with peace of mind; parties of 1 to 2 guests may request a change to this room, though depending on availability the change may not be possible. The whole building is non-smoking, with a smoking area set up outdoors. Guests are asked to refrain from bringing food and drink into the building.
Dining
Meals are served in a fully glass-walled restaurant with sweeping views of the Kanmon Strait. Built on the principle of local production for local consumption, the kaiseki courses feature the bounty of the sea and the mountains, including Shimonoseki's famous fuku (pufferfish). Dinner for elementary school children is served from the children's menu; if you would like them to have the same dinner as adults, please contact the inn. Children under school age have the child set meal, which consists of Hamburg steak, fried shrimp, karaage fried chicken, french fries and salad, and does not include sashimi. There is also a breakfast menu for children under school age. Children's cutlery is available, and meals accommodating allergies can be arranged. Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. There is no banquet hall.
Baths
The two communal baths with a view, Hibiki and Suo, let you bathe while looking out over the Kanmon Strait. They are not onsen. Staying guests can use them from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The family bath, reserved on the day, is barrier-free, and the charge is 1,560 yen per hour; note that the Kanmon Strait cannot be seen from the family bath. After your bath you can unwind in a relaxation room reserved for bathers. Day-use bathing is also accepted from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., with last reception at 9 p.m.; on Tuesdays and Wednesdays it starts at 1 p.m. because the tubs are cleaned.

About 5 minutes by car from Shimonoseki IC, and 16 minutes by bus from Shimonoseki Station. The outdoor parking for 20 cars is free of charge. A pickup service from Shimonoseki Station, Shin-Shimonoseki Station and other points is available by advance reservation, but there is no drop-off the following morning. Check-in is at 3 p.m., last check-in is at 7:30 p.m., and the curfew is 10 p.m. The building is fully barrier-free with a universal design throughout.
