Rooms
The guest rooms are Japanese-style tatami rooms in a traditional Taketomi Island house used just as it is, inside a building designated as part of a preservation district. Rooms are divided from one another by a single sliding fusuma door, and the bathroom and toilet are shared. Sizes range from 3 tatami mats for 1 guest to 4.5 tatami mats for 2, 5.5 tatami mats for 3 and 9 tatami mats for 4, so you can choose one to suit the size of your family. Air conditioning costs extra, at 100 yen per 90 minutes. The shower rooms are shared and come stocked with shampoo and body soap. All rooms are non-smoking, and smoking is possible only in the courtyard.
Dining
Meals are served in the dining room, laid out so that guests meet one another over their food. Dinner is normally at 6 p.m. and breakfast at 8 a.m., and the kitchen serves Okinawan-style home cooking made with local ingredients, changing daily. If there is an ingredient you cannot eat, let the minshuku know in advance and the menu can be changed for you.
Baths
The only bathing facilities are shared shower rooms; there is no bathtub. The explanation given is that Taketomi Island once had little running water, and that older buildings here still do not have bathtubs. Showers can be used from 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

There is no shuttle for sailings earlier than 9:30 a.m. or for sailings around noon. There is no parking.
