Overview

Hotel InterContinental Tokyo Bay is a luxury hotel on Tokyo's waterfront where all 330 rooms have either a bay view or a river view. Rooms are generously sized from 35 sq m and have a shower booth separate from the bathtub. Cribs are provided free of charge, and children up to age 12 can stay by co-sleeping. Directly connected to Takeshiba Station on the Yurikamome Line and close to Haneda Airport, it works well as a base for a family trip.

Rooms

All 330 rooms look out over either the bay or the river. Classic rooms are 35 sq m for 1-2 guests; those with a one-bed layout have, for example, a king bed 180 cm wide by 203 cm long. Bay-view twin rooms are also available for 1-3 guests. If you would like more space, higher categories such as the 52 sq m Junior Suite are available. Every room has a shower booth separate from the bathtub.

Dining

Breakfast is served buffet-style at Chef's Live Kitchen on the 3rd floor, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on weekdays and from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on weekends and holidays, with last orders at 9:45 a.m. If you would rather take your time in the room, in-room dining breakfast (7 a.m. to 11 a.m.) is another option. Room service runs 24 hours a day, making it easy to arrange meals around a child's schedule. Children are welcome to stay.

Family-friendly features

Cribs are provided in the rooms free of charge, and children up to age 12 can stay by co-sleeping; some stay plans set a condition of up to 2 children co-sleeping. When 3 guests share a room, an extra bed is set up in a twin room. On plans that include use of the exclusive lounge on the Club InterContinental floors from the 20th floor up, an additional charge for children's lounge use may apply: 4,000 yen per night for ages 4-12, free for ages 3 and under. Amounts and conditions vary by plan. Guests under 18 are asked to refrain from using the fitness room on their own. There are no indoor or outdoor pools and no childcare service, so the hotel is not suited to a stay planned around water play or drop-off care.

Access

The hotel connects directly to Takeshiba Station on the Yurikamome new transit line, and is an 8-minute walk from Hamamatsucho Station on the JR lines or the monorail. It is 30 minutes from Haneda Airport. A free shuttle bus is also available from JR Hamamatsucho Station. Parking has space for 177 cars, and staying guests can use it for 3,000 yen (tax included) per night. Check-in is from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., and checkout is at 12 p.m.
