Overview

ANA InterContinental Tokyo by IHG is a large 801-room city hotel in Akasaka, by Tameike-sanno. Children up to age 12 co-sleep with no accommodation charge, and cribs and bed guards are lent free of charge, so the hotel is easy to use with babies and young children. In summer, from June to September, the outdoor pool is free for staying guests and includes an adjoining children's pool, and the restaurants offer children's menus. There is no communal bath or onsen, so bathing is mainly in the guest-room bathroom.

Rooms

The hotel has 801 guest rooms. Classic Rooms are 22-30 sq m for 1-2 guests, and 1 King Premium rooms are 32 sq m for 1-3 guests, with an extra bed measuring 90 cm wide by 190 cm long used when 3 guests stay. The Family Suite accommodates 1-4 guests, and children age 12 and under can use an extra bed free of charge. In other rooms, adding an extra bed costs 9,488 yen. Some rooms in the premium category are connecting rooms, letting you move between them without stepping into the corridor. Twin rooms have a fixed nightstand between the beds, so the two beds generally cannot be pushed together. There is no onsen or communal bath, so bathing is mainly in the guest-room bathroom.

Dining

Breakfast is a buffet at Cascade Cafe, priced at 2,600 yen for ages 6-12 and free for children age 5 and under. The restaurants have children's menus for ages 12 and under, including a Hamburg steak lunch menu and a Japanese-style kids' set meal that requires a reservation at least 3 days in advance. Several restaurants and bars have private rooms, which makes family meals easier. On accommodation plans that include meals, meals for co-sleeping children are not included in the rate. If anyone in your party has a food allergy or another dietary restriction, you can let the hotel know when booking.

Pool

The outdoor pool operates in summer, from June 1 to September 30, and staying guests can use it free of charge.
