Overview

Hotel Route Inn Fukui Ekimae is a business hotel a 2-minute walk from the west exit of JR Fukui Station. The top floor, the 14th, has separate men's and women's communal baths with radium artificial hot spring water, open from 5 a.m. until 2 a.m. the next morning. Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet of more than 30 items, served free of charge, and the restaurant has children's chairs and children's tableware. Co-sleeping is free for children who have not yet started elementary school and costs 2,000 yen for elementary school children. Family Double rooms with a 240 cm-wide bed are also available.

Rooms

The hotel has 161 guest rooms in types including single, semi-double, twin and family double. Single rooms are 11 sq m with one bed measuring 140 cm wide by 196 cm long. Comfort Rooms on the upper floors come with their own amenities, including a skin-care set of face wash, toner and milky lotion, plus a body-wash towel and a mug. There are also Family Double rooms with one bed measuring 240 cm wide by 196 cm long, though these can only be booked by phone. Every room has Wi-Fi, an air purifier with a humidifying function, and a television that carries a children's channel.

Dining

Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet served free of charge at the restaurant Hanachaya. It is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., every day of the year. More than 30 items are always on offer, including a rotating daily selection of European breads made from ingredients carefully selected in Switzerland and Germany: Mini Kaiser, Mini Semmel, Mini Ciabatta and Mini Rustico Roll. The restaurant also has children's chairs and charming children's tableware. In the lobby, self-service Doutor coffee is available from 6:30 to 10 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Baths

The top floor, the 14th, has Tabibito no Yu, separate men's and women's communal baths with radium artificial hot spring water. The water is made by dissolving Radiohope, a quasi-drug approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and it is colorless and odorless, so anyone can soak comfortably. The baths are open from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. the next morning and from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., free of charge for staying guests. There is no private-hire bath, so families who want to bathe with a baby or toddler without worrying about other guests will need to use the en-suite bathroom in their room.

Family-friendly features

Co-sleeping is free for children who have not yet started elementary school and costs 2,000 yen, including tax, for elementary school children. This rate applies when a child co-sleeps beyond the room's stated capacity; if a room for 2 guests is used by 1 adult and 1 child, the charge is for 2 adults. Guest-room televisions carry a children's channel, and the front desk lends out picture books for children, which can be taken to your room to read. An air purifier with a humidifying function is provided in every room. There is no indoor or outdoor pool and no childcare service.
