Cribs are available to borrow free of charge, in limited numbers, and children who have not yet started elementary school can co-sleep without bedding. Breakfast is a Japanese-Western buffet at 2,420 yen for adults, 1,210 yen for elementary school children, and free for children under school age. There is no communal bath or onsen, so guests bathe in the en-suite bathroom in their room.
Rooms
The main building's rooms center on 13 sq m single types for 1 guest, including the Standard Single and the Moderate Single "R," "S" and "L," and extend to 20 sq m Deluxe Singles, City Singles (double use / studio twin), Moderate Doubles and 25 sq m twins. All rooms are non-smoking. The Standard Single and Moderate Single "R" each have one bed measuring 120 cm wide by 200 cm long. Families of three can choose the Twin + Extra Bed (Triple) room, 25 sq m for 1 to 3 guests, with two beds on ultra-high-density pocket-coil mattresses 120 cm wide plus one extra bed. Cribs are available to borrow free of charge for children; there are 2 of them, and because numbers are limited, guests are asked to note the request in the comments field when booking. Dining
Breakfast is a Japanese-Western buffet served at JUEN on the 4th floor from 6:30 to 10 a.m., and it can also be taken at Giovanni on the 2nd floor of the New Wing annex, from 6:45 to 10 a.m. Prices are 2,420 yen for adults and 1,210 yen for elementary school children, and it is free for children under school age. Built around ingredients from Iwate Prefecture, the menu follows a theme of breakfast that is gentle on the body, with Chinese rice porridge and steamed dishes alongside northern Tohoku regional specialties such as hittsumi soup, senbei soup and kiritanpo soup, rotated monthly, for a spread of about 60 items. For group meals, the private room Oryu can seat up to 10 people. Room service is not offered.
Family-Friendly Points
Children who have not yet started elementary school can co-sleep, up to 1 child per bed and without bedding: up to 1 child in a room with a double bed, and up to 2 children in a room with twin beds. Some information also states that co-sleeping without meals or bedding is free through the sixth grade of elementary school, and the eligible ages differ by plan, so please confirm when booking. On the other hand, the hotel does not accept bookings for plans that include meals or bedding for babies and toddlers, and elementary school children are charged 100% of the adult rate in both the lower and upper grades. There is no communal bath, private-hire bath or onsen; guests bathe in the en-suite bathroom in each room. During the summer holidays, a parent-and-child Chinese cuisine table-manners and taste workshop is held. The Rakuten-exclusive guaranteed train-view plan puts you in a room with views of the Tohoku Shinkansen Hayabusa and the Akita Shinkansen Komachi, and comes with Shinkansen-design items for children: a backpack, a plush toy, a hand towel and a plastic cup. One set of items is provided regardless of the number of children, and under this plan up to 1 child under school age may co-sleep.
