About Gala-Yuzawa Station

Gala-Yuzawa Station is a JR East station in Yuzawa Town, Niigata Prefecture, directly connected to the Gala Yuzawa ski resort. It is the terminus of a branch line that splits off from Echigo-Yuzawa Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen, about 1.8 km from Echigo-Yuzawa Station and about 75 minutes from Tokyo. It is a seasonal station that operates only during the winter ski season, roughly from mid-December to early May. The station building is known as "Ski Center Cowabunga." On the first floor is the hot spring facility "SPA Gala no Yu," and on the second floor, where the ticket gate is, you will find the ticket counter and the rental counter. A gondola connects the station to the ski slopes.
