Port Lloyd Ogasawara

Port Lloyd Ogasawara stands in Higashimachi (the Omura district) on Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, a World Natural Heritage site, and offers a Japanese-Western room with a kitchen where you can settle in and live at your own rhythm.

The room is a Japanese-Western one: a Western-style area with two single beds, plus a relaxing tatami space. The tatami side has 2 sets of futon bedding, so up to 4 guests can stay, using the beds and the futons as they prefer. You can put a small child down on the tatami or sleep side by side as a family - a layout that gives everyone room to spread out, even with children along.

Another big draw is the full kitchen, alongside a separate bath and toilet. You can prepare meals or baby food for your children, or shop and cook for yourselves, and shape the day around your family's plans. Ogasawara is about a 24-hour voyage away, so stays tend to run several nights or more, which makes a place where you can cook both easier on the budget and genuinely convenient.

The location is very handy as well: about a 2-minute walk to the sea, with the shopping street close by. Shopping and eating are easy, and Futami Port, where the scheduled ship docks, is within walking distance, so you can make this your base as soon as you come ashore.

The Ogasawara Islands hold rare natural landscapes recognized as a World Natural Heritage site. Swimming with dolphins, snorkeling where you can meet sea turtles, shoreline play at the shallow, calm Kominato Beach and Miyanohama, and a sky full of stars are all waiting - experiences that stay in a child's memory. Right by the shopping street, this place makes an ideal base for that kind of sea play and those tours.
