Oceans Cottage is a luxury Asian-style cottage in Awa, Nago, in the northern part of Okinawa's main island, taking only two groups a day. A private beach fringed with coral reef lies right in front of you. Every room is a detached cottage with an ocean view, so the blue sea feels like your own. It opened in spring 2018 and is highly rated, with a Rakuten Travel review score of 5.00 out of 5 (7 reviews).

Sea Play and Marine Sports

The biggest draw is the private beach spread out right in front of the rooms. Every guest gets one free banana boat ride, and reviewers write that "the sea was right in front and our child was thrilled" and that "the banana boat was fun." On this coral-reef shore, families can enjoy playing in the sand, splashing in the water and snorkeling.

Facilities That Let You Live As You Would at Home

Each cottage has an island kitchen with a microwave, a rice cooker and cooking utensils, plus a front-loading washer-dryer with detergent included. You can bring your own groceries to cook for yourselves or prepare baby food, which also makes longer stays comfortable. There is a barbecue garden for a BBQ as well. Every room has a terrace jacuzzi, which glows in seven colors at night, along with an indoor bathroom, so families can bathe without worrying about other guests.

Staying with Children

Children under 3 stay free of charge, and children ages 3 to 12 can stay as well. The spacious rooms are 42.8 sq m for 1 to 4 guests and have two double beds measuring 140 x 200 cm, giving the family plenty of space. Stays of up to 7 consecutive nights are possible.

Access and Parking

About 20 minutes by car from the Kyoda IC on the Okinawa Expressway. Parking is available for JPY 1,000 per day, paid at the front desk on the day. Check-in is at 3 p.m., with last check-in at 6 p.m., and checkout is at 10 a.m. The location also gives easy access toward Motobu, home to the Churaumi Aquarium.
