Kikusui-tei is a ryokan serving Chinese kappo cuisine (refined, chef-prepared dishes) on the shores of Lake Tama in Tokorozawa, Saitama. Along with Japanese-style tatami rooms, there are Japanese-Western rooms and Japanese-modern rooms with beds, and the layout makes it easy for families to use futon bedding. The ryokan is about a 2-minute walk from Seibuen Yuenchi Station, right in front of the Seibuen Yuenchi amusement park, and it has facilities that make a stay with children easy, including the Sayama no Chayu communal bath and a kids' menu at the restaurant Tengaiten. There are no cribs to borrow for guest rooms and no kids' program, but co-sleeping is free for children under 5.
Rooms
In addition to Japanese-style tatami rooms, there are Japanese-Western rooms and Japanese-modern rooms where you can sleep in beds, so families with young children can stay with peace of mind. The Deluxe Japanese-Western Room is made up of two rooms: a 10-tatami-mat Japanese-style room and a twin bedroom. It measures 65 sq m, has 2 beds and 4 sets of futon bedding, sleeps up to 6 guests, and is on floors 3 to 5. The Kutsurogi Japanese-Modern Rooms A, B and C are each 47 sq m (with a 12-tatami-mat living room) and have 2 beds and 3 sets of futon bedding. They sleep up to 5 guests and are on the 5th floor, the top floor. The Lake Tama View Japanese-style room is 47 sq m (with a 12-tatami-mat living room) and has 6 sets of futon bedding. It sleeps up to 6 guests and is on the 3rd and 4th floors, with a broad window-side space that has sunken-floor (horigotatsu) seating. Every room, including the Japanese-Western rooms, has a lake view over Lake Tama.
Dining
The restaurant Tengaiten offers a kids' menu. For children aged 6 and over, the dishes can be changed, and meals can also be prepared for children under 6 for a fee. Food allergy accommodation is limited to 8 ingredients (shrimp, crab, walnut, wheat, buckwheat, egg, milk and peanut), and it must be requested in advance.
Baths
The communal bath is not an onsen. It is Sayama no Chayu, a bath that uses a bath powder blended with Sayama tea. Staying guests can use it at no additional charge, and the 1st-floor and 2nd-floor baths swap between the day of arrival and the next morning. The changing room has a baby bed, and the bathing area has a baby bath. Anyone wearing diapers, regardless of age, cannot use the bathtubs, but they can be bathed in the baby bath. Guests of elementary school age and younger must be accompanied by someone of junior high school age or older of the same sex, and children aged 7 and over must use the bath for their own sex. There is also a Finnish-style self-service loyly sauna, where you pour water on the hot stones yourself.

The ryokan is about a 2-minute walk from Seibuen Yuenchi Station and about an 8-minute walk from Tamako Station. By car, it is about 12 km from Tokorozawa IC on the Kan-Etsu Expressway. There is parking for 40 cars, used on a first-come, first-served basis rather than by reservation. Seibuen Yuenchi amusement park is right in front of Kikusui-tei as you step outside, and staying guests can re-enter as many times as they like on the same day. The adjacent Seibuen Yuenchi also has a pool for young children, open from June 27 to September 23 in 2026.
