Asobigusa has a LIXIL SPAGE system bath with separate taps for onsen water and for regular hot water. The beds can also be pushed together with no gap between them. The bed-free Yubitei Japanese-style 12-tatami room has 12 tatami mats plus a 4-tatami broad window-side space and sleeps 2 to 5 guests.

Isawa Meitokan Itoyanagi, founded in the 12th year of the Meiji era, is the ryokan with the longest history in Isawa Onsen. Its own hot spring source, which wells up on the grounds, is an alkaline simple onsen, and you can enjoy it in the communal bath with its open-air bath and sauna, in the large private-hire bath Oku-no-Yu / Manyo-no-Yu with its soaring open ceiling, and in the step-free family bath Sakura-no-Yu. Guest rooms are wide-ranging - Japanese-style tatami rooms, Japanese-style tatami rooms with beds and Japanese-Western rooms - and the lineup includes types that are easy to choose with children, such as Asobigusa with its onsen bathtub and the tatami-floored Yubitei 12-tatami room. There is also a Baby Plan just for guests traveling with children aged 0 to 3.
Rooms
Guest rooms come in 7 types, and there are several tatami-floored rooms among them: Japanese-style tatami rooms, Japanese-style tatami rooms with beds, and Japanese-Western rooms. On the special floor Shizuku, where the rooms have an open-air bath, Type A is 62 sq m for 2 to 4 guests and Type B is 39 sq m for 2 to 3 guests. Asobigusa, whose rooms have an onsen bathtub, offers Type A at about 62 sq m for 2 to 5 guests and Type B at about 43 sq m for 2 to 3 guests. The Japanese-style twin Shiki is a 33 sq m, 10-tatami Japanese-style tatami room with no bathtub in the room and a shower booth. There is also a 10-tatami Japanese-style tatami room type with 2 low beds, sleeping 3 guests. The 12-tatami Japanese-style room comes with 2 beds, with futons laid out for parties of 3 or more, and it is a spacious layout with few steps. The roomy Japanese-style twin Tsudoi is a two-room layout with the bedroom and the tatami room separate, sleeping 2 to 6 guests. Co-sleeping is limited to 2 children per room; children aged 0 to 3 can stay with neither meals nor bedding, and adding futon bedding costs 2,200 yen. When the rooms with beds are fully booked, a simple extra bed can sometimes be lent for a Japanese-style tatami room. The ryokan has 42 guest rooms in total.
Dining
Dinner is a kaiseki course served in the dining room or in a private dining room. Breakfast is an impressive buffet. Children's meals vary in content and price by age: ages 10 to 12 are served a menu centered on tempura and sushi at 70% of the adult rate; children from roughly the lower to middle grades of elementary school are served a kids' plate with Hamburg steak, curry, fried dishes and gratin at 50% of the adult rate; and children under school age are not served a meal and pay an admission fee of 3,300 yen (except on some plans), with a 550 yen mini udon available to add. Note that the terms and conditions on Rakuten Travel describe the one-plate dinner as being for children from age 4 through the third grade of elementary school, so please confirm meals for children aged 4 and over who are under school age when you book. Children's tableware, baby chairs and children's chairs are also provided. You may bring your own baby food and it will be warmed for you, and there is a microwave near the guest rooms. Allergies are accommodated if you give the details in advance, though in severe cases the ryokan asks you to consult your regular doctor and may not be able to accommodate them. In-room dining is not available.

The water comes from the ryokan's own source, which wells up on the grounds, and the spring water is an alkaline simple onsen. The communal bath has an indoor bath facing the garden and two open-air baths, one a rock bath and one a cypress bath, along with a sauna. The private-hire bath Oku-no-Yu Manyo, with its soaring open ceiling, costs 3,300 yen for 45 minutes, and the family bath Sakura-no-Yu is built without steps so that a wheelchair can go right into the bathing area, which suits families with young children as well. You can bathe in the onsen in your room if you stay in Shizuku, whose rooms have an open-air bath, in Asobigusa, whose rooms have an onsen bathtub, or in the 8-tatami Japanese-style tatami room with beds and an in-room onsen bath. Asobigusa in particular has the bath inside the room, so there is no need to worry about the time or about other guests. Whether children who are not yet out of diapers may get into the tubs in the communal bath is not stated, so please confirm in advance.

Access
A 3-minute walk from Isawa-Onsen Station on the JR Chuo Line, or 15 minutes from the Ichinomiya-Misaka IC on the Chuo Expressway. There are 80 parking spaces, free of charge. Check-in is at 3 p.m. (last check-in 10 p.m.) and checkout is at 11 a.m., with no extensions in the room under any circumstances. There is also a shuttle from the north exit of Isawa-Onsen Station. Nearby are Ventforet Oshiro Land, an indoor play space that children from age 0 through elementary school can enjoy, and Yamanashi Prefectural Forest Park Kanagawa no Mori, which has large play equipment. Kamui Misaka Ski Resort is 20 minutes away by car, and the ryokan does not offer a shuttle there. From August 17 to September 10, 2026, there is a plan for tasting and comparing seasonal grapes and picking them yourself, with a shuttle to the farm available if you would like one.
