Dinner is served at Hanabanatei from 6 to 10 p.m., with last orders at 9:30 p.m., and features dishes you can only get in Akita, such as oyakodon made with Hinai-jidori, one of Japan's three great heritage chicken breeds. Some stay plans that include dinner let you choose from 7 set meals, such as the Japanese-style chicken with grated daikon set and the tonkatsu set, though this is limited to those plans.
Baths
The communal bath, Tabibito no Yu, is an artificial radium onsen, and there are 2 communal baths, one each for men and women. They are open from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. and from 5 to 10 a.m., so you can use them even after a late arrival or before an early departure. The colorless, odorless artificial onsen water is made with Radi-Hope, a quasi-drug approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. The women's bath is kept locked for security, so guests need to stop by the front desk to pick up the key. There is no private-hire bath, so bathing with your children means using the men's and women's communal baths.
