Overview
Hotel Green Plaza Hamanako is a resort hotel on the shore of Hamana-ko in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. Every guest room is a 35-square-meter Japanese-Western room with a view of Hamana-ko. The tatami area can be made up with futons, creating a layout that is convenient for families traveling with babies. Dinner is a Japanese, Western, and Chinese buffet with all-you-can-eat charcoal-grilled eel kabayaki and sukiyaki, as well as kids' meals, baby food, and children's tableware and aprons. The communal bath, Shoei no Yu, has an open-air bath with onsen water, a baby bed in the women's changing room, and baby chairs in the bathing area. The hotel is also about 7 minutes by car from the Tomei Expressway Mikkabi Interchange.
Rooms
Every guest room has a view of Hamana-ko, and the standard room is a 35-square-meter Japanese-Western room. It combines a 6-mat tatami area (roughly 10 m²) with a Western-style bed area holding two semi-double beds. Capacity is from 1 to 5 guests, and futons can be laid out in the tatami area. Guests make up the futons themselves. A TV, refrigerator, electric kettle, hair dryer, and humidifier are provided in every room, while corner rooms with windows on two sides also have an air purifier. Hair irons, makeup remover, bed guards, chargers, shoe dryers, and other items are available to borrow free of charge, and yukata are also available in children's sizes. Cribs are included among the guest-room amenities.
Dining
Dinner is a Japanese, Western, and Chinese buffet featuring about 50 dishes made with Shizuoka ingredients, including local vegetables and kettle-boiled shirasu (tiny whitebait) from Hamana-ko Maisaka Fishing Port. Charcoal-grilled eel kabayaki and beef sukiyaki are available all-you-can-eat. Kids' meals and baby food are available for small children, along with children's tableware and aprons. Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet, with nyumen (thin somen noodles) in asari clam broth and handmade deep-fried bread among the popular items. Buffet dishes are labeled for the 7 major allergens (8 major allergens from April 2025), and allergy-friendly meals can be accommodated. However, because the food is prepared in the same kitchen as other menu items, small amounts of allergens may be present.
Baths and Onsen
The communal bath, Shoei no Yu, commands a sweeping view of Hamana-ko. The open-air bath and open-air pot bath use sodium-calcium chloride onsen water, while the indoor bath uses ordinary heated water. The baths are open from 5:00 to 9:30 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to midnight; on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, the second session runs from 12:30 p.m. to midnight. Guests may also bathe before check-in. A baby bed is provided in the women's changing room, and baby chairs are available in the bathing area, making bathing with small children easier. Guests with tattoos and guests who have been drinking heavily are asked to refrain from using the baths, and mobile phones and smartphones should not be brought into the bathing area.
