About Ishigaki Airport
Ishigaki Airport is a locally managed airport in the eastern part of Ishigaki Island in Ishigaki, Okinawa Prefecture, and is considered the southernmost airport in Japan with scheduled flights. It opened in 2013 as New Ishigaki Airport and took its current name in August 2025. The runway is 2,000 m long and can handle medium-sized jets, so flights from the Tokyo area can reach it without a refueling stop. The domestic terminal has two floors above ground. The first floor has the check-in lobby, the arrivals lobby, and shops and restaurants, while the second floor has the departure lobby and the security checkpoint.
