Kanazawa Yuwaku Onsen Hyakurakusou

A hot-spring ryokan in Yuwaku Onsen, Kanazawa's secluded retreat

Kanazawa Yuwaku Onsen Hyakurakusou is a hot-spring ryokan set in Yuwaku Onsen, known as Kanazawa's secluded hot-spring retreat. A free shuttle (reservation required) runs from JR Kanazawa Station and Kenrokuen Garden, and it is about a 20-minute drive from central Kanazawa. The property comprises the main building IROHA (12 rooms total) and the adult-oriented annex KAGURA; families with children use the main building, IROHA.

Semi-open-air-bath rooms and the onsen

8 of the main building IROHA's 12 rooms have a semi-open-air bath. The spring water is a sodium-calcium sulfate-chloride onsen (mildly alkaline), and guests can also use the main building's communal bath (indoor and open-air) and the private-hire open-air bath 'Kara.' Children who aren't ready for the communal bath can bathe unhurried in the room's semi-open-air bath, adjusting the water temperature as needed.

Mostly tatami rooms

Rooms are mostly tatami-style, including Japanese-style rooms with an 8-tatami-mat room plus an alcove, Japanese-Western rooms, and junior suites combining a twin bed with a 6-tatami-mat Japanese room. A tatami room makes it easy to co-sleep with and change diapers for a crawling-age baby, so families with small children can relax and settle in.

Baby-friendly equipment and the private dining room

The hotel provides a baby bath, baby chair, baby soap, children's cutlery, and children's yukata (80-160 cm), and also handles bottle sterilizing and baby-food warming. Meals are served in the main building's private dining room 'Ouka,' where your family can enjoy the meal without worrying about other guests around you.

Note: the adult-oriented annex KAGURA only accepts guests from upper elementary school age and up. Families with babies or children should choose the main building, IROHA. Late checkout is available until 12 p.m.
