Sokyu is a stand-alone villa rented as a whole, set on a hill overlooking the Sea of Japan in Daisen-cho, Tottori. Everything from booking to departure is completely contact-free, so you never cross paths with other guests. There is just one unit, a 2LDK (two bedrooms plus a living-dining-kitchen area) for 1 to 4 guests, and breakfast arrives as ingredients - bread from a local bakery, sausages made in Tottori and more - for you to cook and enjoy whenever you like. Children aged 0 to 6 stay free when co-sleeping, though no bedding is provided for them; there is no staff on site, and check-in is self-service.
Rooms
This is a whole-villa rental with just one unit, and the only room type is a "Fours" (4-person) room. It is a 96-square-meter 2LDK for 1 to 4 guests. There are two separate bedrooms holding three beds in all: two semi-double beds and one double bed. Household appliances and kitchenware are on hand, so even a long stay is easy to settle into.
Dining
Breakfast is served to all guests: bread from the popular local bakery YOSHIPAN, sausages made in Tottori and locally produced eggs are provided for you to cook yourself and eat whenever you like. Both breakfast and dinner are served on the terrace. From April to November only, you can also choose a dinner plan that comes with a barbecue of local ingredients. The barbecue plan closes for the winter from December 1 to March 31 each year. Meals are brought to the room. The kitchen has basic cooking utensils, but no seasonings are kept there, for reasons of safety and hygiene.
Bath
The bathroom has a bathtub with a separate washing area and a jetted tub. Since the villa is yours alone, the family can bathe without worrying about other guests. It is not an onsen, and there are no barrier-free facilities.
Family-Friendly Features
Children aged 0 to 6 stay free when co-sleeping, but no bedding is provided for them. Up to 2 children can co-sleep, and elementary school children who co-sleep are charged 100% of the adult rate. Amenities such as towels and linens are not provided either. There is no staff on site and check-in is self-service: you enter a password into the key box at the entrance to collect the key. Room service is not available.
