Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Kohamajima is a villa-style beach resort whose 60 rooms are dotted across expansive grounds on Kohamajima. Every villa is at least 53 sq m and has a double sink. Children aged 6 and under co-sleep free of charge without meals or bedding, up to the room's maximum occupancy, and the resort provides rental items such as strollers and cribs, free baby food, and children's chairs and cutlery in the restaurant. There is no communal bath or private-hire bath, so bathing takes place mainly in the guest-room bathroom.
Rooms
All 60 rooms are freestanding villa-style accommodations, each at least 53 sq m, non-smoking, and shoes-free inside. The most casual room, the Superior Suite, is 53 sq m for 1 to 4 guests, with two beds measuring 110 cm wide by 200 cm long plus a day bed facing the terrace. For 4 guests, the layout is the 2 main beds plus one day bed that sleeps 2. The Deluxe Villa is 64 sq m and faces the lagoon, the Premium Villa is 70 sq m with an outdoor jetted bath and a sauna, and the largest, the Royal Villa, is 95 sq m and comes with a private pool, a gazebo and a sauna. Every room has a double sink, which makes getting ready easier when you have children with you.
Dining
Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant Ooli Ooli are served buffet-style, with children's chairs and cutlery available. The dinner buffet is 5,800 yen for adults, 4,060 yen for ages 7 to 11 and 2,900 yen for ages 4 to 6, and free for children aged 3 and under. The breakfast buffet is 3,300 yen for adults, 2,310 yen for ages 7 to 11 and 1,650 yen for ages 4 to 6, and free for children aged 3 and under. Baby food is provided free of charge at both dinner and breakfast. Guests with food allergies can notify the resort when booking, except when using the buffet, and dishes will be prepared with allergens removed as far as possible, though removal is not guaranteed.
Baths
There is no communal bath and no private-hire bath. Guest-room bathrooms have a shower booth, and the Premium Villa and above also have an outdoor jetted bath and a sauna. When bathing with young children, you will essentially be using the bathroom in your own villa.

Access
From Ishigaki Airport, it is 30 to 45 minutes by taxi or public bus to the Ishigaki Port Remote Island Terminal, then 25 minutes by scheduled high-speed boat to Kohama Port, and about 10 minutes from Kohama Port on the hotel's free shuttle bus. Kohamajima has no taxis or public buses, so getting around the island means using a rental car, rental motorbike or rental bicycle.
