Hotel Kozukan Kozushima

Hotel Kozukan Kozushima is the only "hotel" on Kozushima in the Tokyo Islands. Its pride is that every room has an ocean view: from your window you can take in the beautiful sea around Kozushima and relax to the sound of the waves.

What families will appreciate is the thought given to children. The children's amenities include a yukata, slippers and a mug, as well as powdered milk, so you can pack less when traveling with a baby. Touches like these make it easier to stay with peace of mind, even on a first trip to a remote island.

Rooms include Japanese-style tatami rooms of 8 to 10 mats with a toilet and an ocean view. The larger tatami rooms give a family room to spread out and unwind while looking at the sea. Twin rooms are available too, so you can choose according to your family's makeup.

There is a communal bath in the hotel, where the family can soak at leisure after a day at the sea. A coin laundry is on hand as well, handy for washing clothes soaked from playing in the water and for longer stays with children.

The meals showcase seafood from the waters around Kozushima.

For access, a shuttle runs from the port and the airport (reservations required by the day before), which is reassuring on an island trip without a car. Kozushima is certified as a Dark Sky Reserve and is known for its beautiful night sky, and with a shallow, calm swimming beach and an open-air onsen you can enter in a swimsuit, the family can make the most of the stars, the sea and the onsen.
