Several families report that the indoor pool is shallow enough for a 3-year-old to stand and walk in, so children can play there with peace of mind, and that their children were delighted by the dinosaur figures displayed in the open-air bath of the communal bath. Guests also enjoy plenty to do indoors and out, from toasting marshmallows over a bonfire in the evening to the automatic pancake maker at breakfast. An airy, glass-walled indoor pool that can be used year-round whatever the season. Staying guests use it free of charge from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and can swim before check-in and after checkout as well. Guest rooms come in a wide range of styles: Western-style, Japanese-style tatami, Japanese-Western and maisonette Western-style rooms. The Standard Western Room is 34-36 sq m with two single beds; for 3 or more guests a sofa bed is used, and guests make up the sofa bed themselves before bedtime. The Japanese-Western room (twin beds plus a 6-tatami Japanese-style area) is 40 sq m and sleeps 1 to 5 guests. The Spacious Japanese-Western room (48 sq m and up) has two twin beds and two sofa beds along with a 6- to 8-tatami Japanese-style area, accommodating groups of 1 to 8 guests. The maisonette Western Room uses the 1st and 2nd floors and sleeps 1 to 6 guests, with two twin beds and two sofa beds on the first level and two twin beds on the second. Baths and Onsen
There are a communal bath and an open-air bath using natural hot spring water from Hoonji Onsen Sasayuri, along with spa facilities including a jacuzzi and a sauna. The communal bath and open-air bath are open from 12 p.m. to midnight, and from 3 p.m. on Wednesdays, with a morning bath from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. as well. The water is heated and diluted rather than flowing straight from the source, and there is no private-hire bath, so bathing with your children means using the communal bath.

The nearest station is Katsuyama Station on the Echizen Railway, with a free shuttle bus available by reservation. By car, go from the Fukui-kita Junction on the Hokuriku Expressway onto the Chubu-Jukan Expressway and exit at the Katsuyama Interchange; from there it is about 20 minutes. From Komatsu Airport it is about 90 minutes by car. The Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is easy to reach, about 10 minutes by car from the hotel. Check-in is from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., and checkout is by 11 a.m. Parking is available, with a snow-clearing contribution charged in winter.
