Travel tips
Because the stations are split between the east side and the west side depending on the company, allow extra time for transfers. If you leave your bags in a JR or Tokyu coin locker first, you can head out without carrying your bags. Yokohama's stations and sightseeing spots are close together, so you can get around easily without a car.
Best season
In nearby Yokohama and Minatomirai, spring and fall are best for strolling around the harbor. In summer, look for events in Minatomirai and water play at Hakkeijima, and in winter the focus is on illuminations and indoor attractions. Hotel rates rise on holiday weekends, so staying on a weekday can help keep costs down.
Getting there
The JR station has a transfer gate to the Keikyu Line.
