About Tennoji Station
Tennoji Station is a JR West and Osaka Metro station straddling Tennoji Ward and Abeno Ward in Osaka. It is a major terminal in southern Osaka and, together with Namba, serves as one of the city's two southern gateways. The JR Osaka Loop Line, the Kansai Main Line (Yamatoji Line), and the Hanwa Line all stop here, and some Hanwa Line trains run straight through from Hineno onto the Kansai Airport Line. Across Abiko-suji Avenue stands Kintetsu's Osaka Abenobashi Station, and Abeno Harukas opened directly above it in 2014. The shopping and entertainment district around the station is the next largest in Osaka after Umeda and Namba.
