Local specialties include chicken nanban (fried chicken with tartar sauce), charcoal-grilled chicken, katsuo tataki don (a seared bonito rice bowl), hiyajiru (chilled miso soup poured over rice) and Miyakonojo oden, alongside local sweets such as jari pan and Yoghurppe. Breakfast costs 1,000 yen for ages 13 and over and 500 yen for ages 6 to 12, and is free for children aged 5 and under. Baby chairs are available at the breakfast venue.
