An extra bed 100 cm wide can be added in the 28 sq m Premium Twin, the 45 sq m Premier Deluxe and the 45 sq m Accessible Room, and the Premier Deluxe can take two extra beds for a total of 4 guests. The 82 sq m Royal Suite can also accommodate groups with children by adding extra beds. The barrier-free Accessible Room sleeps up to 4 guests with extra beds, and its bathroom is designed with wheelchair use in mind. Two adjoining 22 sq m Superior Twin rooms can be used as connecting rooms, letting a party of 4 move between them through an interior door without stepping into the corridor. Please call the hotel if you would like to use them.
Dining
Sky Grill Buffet Restaurant Kuuou on the 12th floor serves a Japanese-Western buffet breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with last entry at 10 a.m. Regional dishes are on the menu as well, including Akita specialties such as kiritanpo hot pot and Inaniwa udon noodles. Breakfast rates have separate age categories for children ages 3 through the year before elementary school and for children ages 0 to 2. The Chinese restaurant Karin on the first floor has private rooms for up to 8 or up to 10 guests, where you can dine without worrying about other guests; a separate private-room charge applies. Guests with food allergies can consult the hotel in advance, but please note that dishes are prepared in the same kitchen and with the same equipment as other menu items, so the hotel cannot guarantee full allergy accommodation.
Baths
Guest rooms have en-suite bathrooms. There is no communal bath, onsen, open-air bath, private-hire bath or sauna, so bathing with children takes place in the guest-room bathroom.
Family-Friendly Points
Children are accepted through the end of elementary school, and the hotel's general information states that co-sleeping is possible from preschool age. However, some plans, such as the Best Flexible Rate, state that co-sleeping is not permitted and that babies and toddlers cannot be accommodated at all. Elementary school children in both the upper and lower grades are charged 100% of the adult rate, with no discounted children's rate, so please check the conditions for children on the specific plan you book. Cribs are available to borrow for guest rooms, and humidifiers can be borrowed as well. Rooms may be used from 2 p.m. until 11 a.m. the following day, and the hotel can accommodate use outside those hours for an additional charge, which is worth raising if mornings with children take you a while. The fitness gym on the 6th floor is for guests ages 18 and over, excluding high school students, so children cannot use it.
Access
The hotel is a 3-minute walk from the west exit of JR Akita Station. The directions given are to leave the central ticket gates, follow Oyane-dori, cross Agora Plaza and take the covered walkway, which brings you to the hotel entrance. The arcade runs all the way from the JR ticket gates to the hotel, so you stay dry even on rainy or snowy days. The hotel has no parking of its own, so guests use nearby facilities such as the Akita Municipal Parking Lot, which has a 2-meter vehicle height limit.
